Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
Valio Life Assistant ("Valio") is a personal AI assistant operated by Ascensio Digital Solutions ("Ascensio", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information Valio handles, why, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and how you can control or delete it.
Valio is in a private pilot. It is used today only by people Ascensio has invited and enrolled. It is not offered to the general public.
1. Information Valio handles
- Account and device information. Your name, email address, the accounts you choose to connect, and a device credential that lets your Mac app talk to Valio's service.
- Google user data you authorize. When you connect a Google account, Valio accesses only the Google services and permissions you approve on Google's consent screen. Depending on what you approve, this can include Gmail messages, threads, drafts, attachments, labels and settings; Google Calendar events; Google Drive files and their sharing settings; Docs, Sheets and Slides; Contacts; and Tasks.
- What you tell Valio. Your typed and spoken messages, Valio's replies, and the facts you explicitly ask Valio to remember.
- Voice. When you use voice, your microphone audio is streamed to our voice provider to recognize speech and produce spoken replies. Push-to-talk on the Mac uses Apple's on-device speech recognition, and the temporary audio file is deleted right after recognition.
- Operational records. Minimal technical records such as timestamps, event types, success or failure, and latency. These records do not contain message, email, calendar, audio or credential content.
2. How Valio uses your information
Valio uses your information only to provide and improve the assistant features you use, for you. That means:
- preparing briefs that summarize your inbox, calendar and upcoming obligations;
- answering your questions and holding conversations by text or voice;
- drafting replies, and sending, organizing, creating, editing or deleting items in your connected accounts when you ask Valio to;
- remembering facts you explicitly confirm, so later answers can take them into account;
- keeping the service secure, preventing duplicate actions, and diagnosing failures.
Valio asks for your confirmation before consequential actions, such as sending an email on your behalf.
3. Google user data
Valio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We use Google user data only to provide or improve the user-facing features of Valio that you use.
- We transfer Google user data to others only as needed to provide those features (for example, to the AI model provider that writes a summary you asked for), to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets with notice to you.
- We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, including retargeted, personalized or interest-based advertising.
- We do not sell Google user data, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
- No person at Ascensio reads your Google user data unless you give specific permission for particular items, it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required to comply with law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
4. Service providers
Valio relies on a small number of providers that process information on our behalf, only to operate the features described above:
- Cloudflare hosts Valio's cloud service and its storage.
- AI model providers, reached through OpenRouter, generate replies, summaries and drafts from the content needed for your request.
- ElevenLabs provides live voice conversation and spoken replies.
- Composio provides connections to some of your accounts.
- 1Password stores the credentials Valio uses to reach your accounts.
- Google provides the Google services you connect.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Storage and security
Credentials are kept in 1Password and in your Mac's Keychain, never in our code or logs. Data moves over encrypted connections. Each user's data is stored separately, and every request is checked against the person and context it belongs to. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to what is needed to run Valio.
6. Retention and deletion
- Valio reads Google data when it needs it for a feature and keeps only what that feature needs, such as the items shown in your current brief.
- Remembered facts stay until you correct or delete them. You can view, export, correct and delete them in the Mac app's Memory workspace.
- Conversation history is kept so you can continue a conversation, until you ask us to delete it or close your account.
- Operational records are kept for a limited time and contain no message content.
- When you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete your stored data and credentials within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can disconnect Valio from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Valio then loses access immediately.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to stop processing it, by writing to the address below. Depending on where you live, including under Brazil's LGPD and the EU and UK GDPR, you may have further rights, and you can complain to your data protection authority.
8. Children
Valio is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use Google user data or other personal information, we will tell you before it takes effect and ask for your consent where required.
